Departure from the San Rossore Migliarino Massaciuccoli Park towards Cascina (nearby the Virgo Gravitational Centre), and continue towards Fauglia and Crespina along the Strada del Vino delle Colline Pisane (Wine Road of the Pisan Hills) until Casciana Terme, famous for its thermal baths and Lari.

After leaving Lajatico on the way to Montecatini Val di Cecina you descend towards Ponteginori passing by Querceto Castle. You enter the Monterufoli-Caselli Nature Reserve, then arrive in Pomarance passing through the hamlet of Micciano, on the summit of a rocky spur dominating the Cecina Valley.

This ring takes you to the southernmost point of the Trail (and of the province of Pisa), crossing the Valle del Diavolo (Devil’s Valley), to Larderello and Sasso Pisano and then returning to Pomarance, after entering the Parco delle Fumarole (Fumarole Park), where geothermal springs such as soffioni, putizze and lagoni and the Terme Romane del Bagnone (Roman Baths of Bagnone) are visible.

Leaving Pomarance, you first pass by the villages of San Dalmazio and Montecastelli Pisano until to reach the Rocca Sillana. Passing through the Berignone-Tatti Nature Reserve, you get to the Etruscan city of Volterra.

After reaching first Pontedera (Piaggio Museum) and then the medieval village of Vicopisano, at the foot of the Pisan Mount, you get to the Monumental Charterhouse of Calci. The Lungomonte road leads to Pisa and to the finish in San Rossore Migliarino Massaciuccoli Natural Park.
