The Terre di Pisa Bike Trail is a non-competitive cycling rally on dirt roads, paths and mule tracks. It is covered in complete autonomy, deciding the kilometres to cover each day, whether to cycle at night and when to stop for rest, food and sleep, withoutany assistance from the organisation. It is not a race but an unsupported experience where you win the title of finisher.
REGISTRATION
– all persons, of any nationality, who have reached the age of 18 atthe time of registration are admitted to the rally
registrations for Terre di Pisa Bike Trail 2025 (23rd-27th April 2025) are open from noon on 1st December 2024 midnight on 11th April 2025.
The 2025 entry fee is € 70.00, race packet (jersey, water bottle, local products) and commissions included.
PROMOTIONS
Registration fee of € 50.00 race package included (jersey + water bottle + local products) for registrations by 6th January 2025 for the first 50 registered.
Entry fee of € 50.00 race package included (only water bottle + local products) for entries from 51 to 100
MEMBERSHIP CARDS, MEDICAL CERTIFICATES AND INSURANCE
Italian participants registered with an A.S.D. affiliated to the FCI, UCI, ACSI, CSAIN, CSI, UISP must show their personal membership card, sending a copy in advance to the specific link ENDU by the closing date for registration for the event. Those who are notregistered with any sports club at the time of registration for the event may register anyway by subscribing to an insurance policy worth an additional €10. The organisation may at any time and atits sole discretion decide whether or not to accept the registrationor exclude an entrant from the event if it considers that he or shemay damage the image of the event.
MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
• For all participants, it is MANDATORY to present the organisation with a medical certificate for cycling. This is the competitive medical certificate for cycling, which must be in accordance with DM 24/04/2013 issued by a Sports MedicalCentre or authorised physician and valid. The medicalcertificate must expire after 27 April 2025 and must be uploaded after registration and sent to the specific link by ENDU PLATFORM by all participants, regardless of whether they have a membership card (FCI, UCI, ACSI, CSAIN, CSI, UISP) within 2 weeks before the start.
• The Competitive Medical Certificate must be specific to CYCLING.
• The medical certificate is mandatory for participation in the event and must be valid during the event.
• Physical unfitness and a suspended medical certificate do notconstitute grounds for reimbursement of the registration fee.
• Paid entry fees are non-refundable, cannot be transferred to another participant and cannot be frozen to another editionunless serious injuries or accidents occur.
• The event will take place in all weather conditions. In the event of suspension due to alerts/weather or emergenciesfrom events beyond the organisation’s control, registrationfees cannot be refunded
• If the event is cancelled or moved to another date, the registration fee will remain valid
START AND ROUTE
The start of the Terre di Pisa Bike Trail will take place on 23rd April 2025 at 9 a.m. from the Certosa di Calci (Pisa), where it will also end on 27th April 2025.
The organisation will provide all participants with a track in gpxformat of the route to be followed to the finish. The organisationreserves the right to modify the route up to a few days before the start. The participant must load the track provided on his GPS device and follow it from start to finish.
EVENT CHARACTERISTICS AND WARNINGS
• The Terre di Pisa Bike Trail is an adventure on asphalt roads, dirt roads and paths; the entire route will be open to traffic atall times and therefore it is compulsory for all participants to respect the Highway Code
• the participant acknowledges that he/she is aware that the trailis not signposted, travels at his/her own risk and isconsidered to be a free personal excursion with no extra rights compared to other users on the trails and roads
• the participant is aware that there is no health, food and mechanical assistance service provided by the organisersalong the route; there is no pick-up service for those whohave retired and there is no obligation on the part of the organisers to search for participants along the route
• the participant undertakes to inform the organisers of hiswithdrawal by sending a text message/WhatsApp (see info road book) or an e-mail to +39 351 5996770
• the participant is aware that the organising A.S.D. is not a professional organising body, but that it is acting solely for recreational and non-pecuniary purposes. It follows thereforethat the Terre di Pisa Bike Trail cycling excursion is to be understood as a mere meeting and spontaneous and independent participation of cyclists and cycle-lovers on a free and personal excursion
• the above-mentioned organising A.S.D. is exempt, and in anycase indemnified, from any liability connected with the Terre di Pisa Bike Trail cycling excursion. In particular, the participant declares that he/she assumes all responsibility thatmay arise from the exercise of his/her sporting activity during the event, relieving the organising A.S.D. from anydirect or indirect responsibility for any damage – material or otherwise – that may be caused to him/herself or to thirdparties during the course of the excursion due to – by way of example but not limited to – accidents, loss of the route, road accidents, collisions with other cyclists; he/she also declaresthat he/she releases the organising A.S.D. from anyresponsibility deriving from the exercise of the sporting activity during the course of the event. • the participant undertakes to respect and keep clean the places traversed: meadows, woods, paths and agricultural property; he/she undertakes not to throw rubbish along the route and to dispose of it in the appropriate collection containers
• Participants are required to be physically fit, resistant to prolonged exertion, have good off-road driving skills, be familiar with the use of GPS, have good orientation and, above all, have a spirit of adaptation
• the route must be followed in its entirety and without cuts
• any kind of external support is forbidden (except in case of emergency)
COMPULSORY KIT
For their personal safety, each participant is obliged to carry the following minimum safety equipment with them throughout theiradventure:
o Helmet (to be worn at all times)
o Reflective waistcoat for night riding
o White front light, red rear light
o Mobile phone
o GPS device (e.g. Garmin, Wahoo, Sunto)
o Passport (or ID card)
o Basic first aid kit (with thermal blanket, recommended)
o Bike repair kit
o Battery Pack (not mandatory, but strongly recommended)
o Rain jacket (not obligatory, but down jacket recommended)
APPROVAL, CONSENT, AUTHORISATION
The participant declares:
• to have read and approved these regulations and to accepteach and every part of them
• to have taken note that the event is a non-competitive endurance trial of considerable physical, psychophysicaleffort and without rankings
• to be aware that some stretches may be rough and requiregood riding technique. Where necessary, the participant willovercome the difficult section by getting off the bike and proceeding on foot, according to his or her own judgement
• to have experience in GPS navigation in off-road and/or otherwise untracked routes.
• to have experience and be aware that the route is not marked, is not monitored and there are no safety posts and/or rescue personnel along the route
• to be aware that there is no health, food and mechanicalassistance service provided by the organisers of the cycling event called Terre di Pisa Bike Trail
• to have experience and be aware of the possibility of encountering adverse weather conditions and to be able to orientate oneself and cycle in a high mountain environmentin such conditions
• to be physically prepared to face many hours riding a bike non-stop and in complete self-sufficiency
• not to use doping, drugs or medicinal substances that mayalter performance or lead to situations of harm or danger to oneself or others
• to be aware that unforeseen events may occur along the route, such as landslides, sun, wind, rain, hail, lightning, cold, night, darkness, fog, snow, ice, landslides, encounters with unattended and/or wild animals, falls, accidental collisionswith other participants or with people passing by and/or with vehicles on the carriageable road sections, and to be adequately prepared to deal with emergency situations.
• to stand surety for one’s own behaviour during and after the event
• to be aware that the organising “ASD” is not a professionalorganising body, but that it acts solely for recreational and non-pecuniary purposes (1174 Civil Code); participation in the Terre di Pisa Bike Trail is therefore always by free choiceand for recreational and non-pecuniary purposes. It thereforefollows that the above-mentioned organising ASD is exempt, and in any case relieved, from any liability connected with the Terre di Pisa Bike Trail excursion. It is also relieved from any liability regarding any eventualities occurring to the cyclist during the Terre di Pisa Bike Trail such as: accidents, loss of the route, physical problems, accidents, theft, etc.. Itfollows therefore that the Terre di Pisa Bike Trail cycling excursion is to be understood as a mere meeting with spontaneous and independent participation of cyclists and amateur cyclists on a free and personal excursion; that out of a pure spirit of hospitality and courtesy, without the requirements of Article 1174 et seq. of the Civil Code, the above-mentioned organising ASD may organise one or more refreshments for the participants, subject to a voluntary contribution, which the cyclist undertakes to pay beforetackling the Terre di Pisa Bike Trail cycling excursion
to be aware that the organiser declines all liability for himselfand his staff for accidents or damage to persons or propertythat may occur before, during and after the event or as a result thereof
• to be aware that he/she must declare pursuant to PresidentialDecree no. 445 of 28 December 2000 that the documentssubmitted by him/her are true and correspond to the originalsin his/her possession
• to be in possession of the medical aptitude certificate for cycling and in conformity with DM18/02/1982 and/or DM 26/04/2013 issued by a Sports Medical Centre or authorisedphysician
• that he/she is in good physical condition, providing the organisation with full indemnity for any damage he/she maysuffer as a result of his/her participation in the event
• he/she consents to the use of his/her data, also for commercial purposes, in accordance with the provisions of Privacy Lawno. 196 of 30/06/2003. He/she grants the organisers full consent to use, in the manner permitted by law, including for profit, any of his/her video or photographic images takenduring the days of the event, providing the organisation with the right to transfer such images to third parties. The aforementioned authorisation for the use of one’s image is to be understood as given for an indefinite period of time and without territorial limits throughout the world, for use in publications and various films, including, purely by way of example and not limited to, promotional and/or advertising materials.
Finally, the data collected will not be subject to an automateddecision-making process. The period of data processing and storage is determined by civil and tax regulations, and in any case no longer than 10 years from the termination of the contractualrelationship.
The interested party may exercise, in relation to the processing of their personal data, the right of access provided for in Article 15 of Reg. 679/2016, the right to data portability, as well as the rectification or cancellation of the data or the limitation of the processing or the opposition to the same, by making a request to the organising A.S.D Cicli Zapier mail, ciclizapier@gmail.com.
The Data Subject who considers that the processing concerninghim/her violates Reg. 679/2016 has the right to lodge a complaintwith the Supervisory Authority.
PHOTO AND VIDEO FILMING RELEASES
The modality of the Event foresees the realisation of video-photographic filming for the purpose of documenting and publicising the event. The video-photographic recordings willinterest all participants and may be published and made availableon the web platform and social pages of Terre di Pisa Bike Trail.
Therefore, the participant expressly authorises the Organiser, either directly or through its service partners, to film and photograph its image in the context of the event and to use the footage for purposes related to the documentation of the event and the promotion thereof by any means and through any channel or medium, digital or printed.
The authorisation is understood to be granted, pursuant to articles10 of the Civil Code and 96 and 97 of Law no. 633/1941 (Law on copyright), free of charge, for the whole world and for a period of ten years, subject always to the limit of the protection of personal decorum and dignity, and with the right for the Organiser to authorise the event’s sponsoring companies and technical and service partners to use the aforementioned footage for the samepurposes as those covered by this authorisation.
