Housed in the former Monastery of the Charterhouse of Calci, the museum offers a route among the 16th century collections, the historic Chamber of Wonders and the modern museum. One section houses the Freshwater Aquarium and the rooms for temporary exhibitions, the other permanent exhibitions: the museum’s highlight is the spectacular Gallery of Cetaceans, with panoramic windows overlooking the Val Graziosa. Noteworthy are the Amphibians and Reptiles Galleries well as the Halls of the Man Evolution, the Geological Eras and the Prehistory of Monte Pisano. An experience that combines nature, science and history. The Museum is part of the Museum System of the University of Pisa.
